Join us for the final week in the SATURDAY SIDEWALK SERIES. (Due to cooler temps, the event will be held indoors. Please wear face masks, practice social distancing and ENJOY!) Each week in October, Gallery V has introduced a new local artist, whether self-taught, emerging or well-established. Guests have enjoyed artist demos and learning how they find their inspiration. This Saturday, October 31 ~ WELCOME, Illustrator, MOLLY GREEN! Meet the artist in person and watch Molly’s colored pencil drawing demo as she creates a work in progress.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Molly Green is a valued Gallery V customer who has participated in many of our events and educational workshops. We first saw a glimpse of her talent in the earliest stages when Molly attended a Gallery V painting workshop as a way to “limber up” and take the edge off of her nerves prior to attending an upcoming drawing workshop led by Lisa Ann Watkins, an acclaimed animal illustrator from the UK.

We have watched Molly’s artistic growth unfold in just a short period of time. She’s advanced her skills by attending additional educational workshops; but mostly, Molly’s passion for drawing and her regular discipline of those skills has stretched her ability into amazing talent! Now she is finding herself creating in a style that is uniquely her own. We think you’ll be impressed, too, as we invite you to see.

Along with Molly’s drawing demo, other completed animal portrait illustrations will be on display for viewing. One drawing can incorporate approximately 15 - 20 layers of pencil application through a burnishing and carving technique in order to build the lifelike colors and texture she desires. Molly’s forte is her love for animals, whether drawing her personal pets (8 cats and 2 dogs!) or an exotic wildlife creature. In the past, Molly has owned 16 pygmy goats and now has a family of foxes who regularly frequent the wonderful natural acreage that Molly, her husband Joe, and the animals call home.

Molly’s work has been chosen out of one thousand entries (for two consecutive years) to be featured in Ann Kulberg’s esteemed Hidden Treasures art book. Molly has taken workshops by English artist, Lisa Ann Watkins as well as from American artist, Gemma Gelling and follows tutorials by Leontine Van Vliet and Amie Howard. All colored pencil artists in Europe.
